Graphite board is an important material widely used in high-temperature furnaces, heat treatment equipment and various industrial fields. Its excellent thermal conductivity, high temperature resistance and high strength make graphite board an ideal refractory material. However, the performance of graphite plate is affected by its preparation process and raw materials, therefore, it is of great significance to choose the right graphite board material to ensure the normal operation and service life of the equipment.

First, the raw materials of graphite board

The raw materials of graphite board mainly include natural flake graphite, artificial graphite and mixed graphite. Among them, natural flake graphite has high purity and high temperature resistance, but is susceptible to impurities, artificial graphite has good thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance, but high cost, and mixed graphite combines the advantages of natural flake graphite and artificial graphite, and has a high cost performance.

Second, the preparation process of graphite plate

The preparation process of graphite plate mainly includes batching, molding, sintering and cooling. Among them, batching is one of the key links, which directly affects the performance of graphite plates. In the batching process, it is necessary to add an appropriate amount of binders, lubricants and other auxiliary materials to improve the formability and strength of the graphite plate. Forming methods such as calendering or extrusion molding are usually used to obtain graphite sheets of different specifications and shapes. The sintering and cooling links directly determine the physical and chemical properties of the graphite plate.

Third, the principle of selection of graphite plate materials

High temperature resistance: Graphite sheets need to work in a high-temperature environment, so materials that can withstand high temperatures need to be selected. Natural flake graphite and mixed graphite have good high temperature resistance, while artificial graphite has relatively poor high temperature resistance.

Thermal conductivity: Graphite plates need to have excellent thermal conductivity to keep the temperature in the furnace stable. Natural flake graphite and mixed graphite have good thermal conductivity, while artificial graphite has relatively poor thermal conductivity.

Mechanical strength: Graphite plate needs to have a certain mechanical strength to withstand the impact and wear of the materials in the furnace on the equipment. Natural flake graphite and hybrid graphite have high mechanical strength, while artificial graphite has comparatively lower mechanical strength.

Economy: On the premise of meeting the requirements of use, materials with reasonable price and long service life should be preferred. The price of natural flake graphite is higher, but the price of artificial graphite and hybrid graphite is relatively low.

Machinability: Graphite plates need to be processed according to the actual work needs, so it is necessary to choose materials that are easy to process. Natural flake graphite and mixed graphite have better processing performance, while artificial graphite has relatively poor processing performance.
