Graphite crucibles cannot be used however you want, and you cannot use them casually. In order to protect ourselves and our property, we should pay attention to several issues when using graphite crucibles.

Things to note when using graphite crucible:

  • The first is that when feeding materials, you should be careful not to use too much force or put in a lot at once to avoid collisions between the materials and the graphite crucible, thereby damaging the graphite crucible.
  • The second is that if you use the graphite crucible for a period of time and stop using it, you must carefully clean up the remaining material at the bottom of the graphite crucible to avoid that the bottom of the graphite crucible has solidified when you use it next time, causing the crucible to expand due to heat and affecting its service life. If you use the graphite crucible 24 hours a day without interruption, its service life will be increased.
  • The third is to put some dissolving aids into the graphite crucible to avoid damaging the inner wall of the graphite crucible due to too much solvent.
  • The last aspect is to check and clean the graphite crucible regularly, about once every two months for melting aluminum alloys, and once a week for melting copper alloys.
